I am 23 and in love with my life.
I have always been a dreamer. Poetry, writing, painting, anything musical or artistic of any kind, that’s my jam, homie! I live for arts and crafts and I have more hobbies than I have time for. I’m pretty sure I have enough markers/glue sticks/crayons to supply half of an elementary school. But seriously. That’s not a joke.
I’ve always been the kind of person who loves to love. I try to give out happiness as if it were a condom at your local Planned Parenthood. I’m not shy and I never have been; believe me if you were to sit beside me on a quiet bus, I’d wear you down by the end and you WOULD be talking to me. Ask my shy table mate in my 12th grade Geology class. We’re buds, at least I think so.
I have decided that life is messy. Plain and simple. But I’m determined to take the leap and prepare for the glorious fall that life has in store for me. I plan on being in Finland someday soon and with a person who holds my heart. One day I’ll look back on right now, the distance, the crappy days, the times where I just want to be beside him, and realize that we had to do the things we’re doing to get where we are meant to be. We will get to a place of love and happiness, even though it’s not too easy to imagine right now. It will be worth it, we just have to keep the faith alive.
Life isn’t always easy, it’s always a tad bit messy, and a bit scary, but without the thrill, without the joy, pain, fear, excitement, why live?
Remember, friends, even the smallest stone can shine after a bit of polish.
Stay hopeful and keep on dreaming.
